I Shot an Arrow in the Air

The sign said “Archery Range is Open”.  David asked me if I would like to take a walk up there. I said I would, so he parked the truck and he, the girls, and I walked over to the trailhead. Mallory signed the register and commented “looking forward to coming back with my bow”.

At the top of the hill, I stopped to take it all in. A stiff wind was blowing as I looked over the rolling landscape.  The archery range agrees with me and it felt good to be up there again after a long winter. It was a Sunday outing and we decided to walk around the whole trail. Several deer captured our attention and I took a picture of M and E stalking these two.

At the last target, E called out that it was my favorite bear. Not a real bear, but a burlap one. She knows that the bear is my favorite target and that I would be happy to know that a bruin has replaced the buck.

The Bear

They also found an arrow and began waving it at me. My first thought was that I was being repaid for the one that I had lost on the range a couple of autumn’s ago. My grandson and I had shot an arrow in the air,  it fell to earth, I knew not where.

As the universe operates through dynamic exchange, giving and receiving are different aspects of the flow of energy.

What goes up must come down; what goes out must come back. And so it did.

Peace,

Marlene
