Northwest Montana Fair

Where there’s spirit, there’s community, and there’s definitely spirit at the Northwest Montana Fair. People from all around the county set up camp at the Flathead County Fairgrounds in anticipation of the events.

Pig wrestling, mutton bustin’, PRCA rodeo, demolition derby, Indian relay races, and of course rides make this week long event complete.

This year E and I are enrolled in 4-H club, and we entered food and photography exhibits into the fair. We had also entered a coloring contest sponsored by the newspaper. E was lucky enough to win full day POP ride passes for two people. She was kind enough to pick me as her special guest. Our fair entries won 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Our prize winnings will be several dollars each.

We went to the fair nearly every day of last week, but Dad chose Saturday as the ride day. We went on all of the rides but the kiddie ones, and 3 others. People of all ages strolled the fairgrounds, riding rides, admiring the animals, and looking at the exhibits. The fair has that classic Montana spirit of excitement, adventure, freedom, and fun. The county fair is an event, not to be missed!
