Shooting Sports, Hauling Wood, and a King Cake Party

February in Review – Shooting Sports, Hauling Wood, and a King Cake Party

4-H shooting sports parent night is held in February and every year my girls have been shooting, I have participated. However, this was my first time wearing a precision shooting jacket. Oh my gosh! That thing is so uncomfortable, I don’t know how my girls do it. I felt trapped and had to get out of it. Ever since my big cousins (you know who you are) tricked me with Chinese finger traps, I have been claustrophobic in clothing or jewelry I think I cannot get out of. It was a night to remember.

Then there was the day that Mallory and I spent bucking and hauling wood for the stove. Hauling wood in a sled up a hill is another one of those things that is harder than it looks, but it keeps you tank top ready.

We closed the month with a King Cake Party with a family from Baton Rouge and a gal I met on facebook. Our road was so icy, neither of them could make it up, so they parked where the pavement stops and our private road begins. I picked them up and drove them to our house. It was a great success.
