Scenes from our adventure to the National Bison Range.
Thirty to 70,000,000 buffalo once roamed the plains before man nearly brought them to extinction.
Today they no longer face that danger. There are over 140,000 buffalo in North America.
Three hundred fifty to 500 of these animals roam over 18,000 acres of beautiful Montana landscape at the National Bison Range in Moise. In addition to buffalo, some 50 different wildlife and over 200 species of birds call the National Bison Range their home.
One of the prettiest times to visit the National Bison Range is in late May or early summer. For best wildlife viewing, try to get there early in the morning or later in the evening.
