THIRTY-EIGHT days and counting! I am sooo excited! NOT!!
Here’s how it looked a couple of weeks ago. |
I have mixed feelings about the opening of the new Wal-Mart Supercenter. I like to think that I live in the wild west and in one of the last places on earth without a Wal-Mart Supercenter. All of that will change when Wal-Mart closes its only store in the valley and opens the Supercenter in Depotland. Not only does it change my romantic image of Kalispell, I also find myself becoming increasingly indifferent to this big box store. Remember the days when Wal-Mart’s slogan was “MADE IN AMERICA”? Hard to imagine now, but it’s true. I keep wanting to protest and buy all my stuff at Costco. But giant sized, and I do mean BIG BOX, doesn’t always suit my purpose. Besides I’m thrifty, having been raised by a mom who grew up in the
Depression. You know it’s tough to beat those Wal-Mart prices on stuff like laundry detergent, paper supplies, pet food, toiletries, auto supplies, etc. What’s a girl to do? So like it or not the Wal-Mart Supercenter is opening in June. Perhaps my Wal-Mart shopper husband and my daughter will take charge of doing the marketing once a month. Wouldn’t that be great?!
Please take a moment and let me know if you LOVE ’em or HATE ’em…..Wal-Mart I mean.
Now here’s a link to my post in November all about…you guessed it…Wal-Mart!
Until next time,
Marlene
